Meet Scholar by Blackboard. It's a study app that already has your courses. There's nothing to upload.
Your instructor's readings, slides, videos, and assignments come straight from Blackboard, week by week. You can add your own notes too, and they sit right alongside.
It knows what's due, and when. Your Planner shows what to focus on when, across all your classes.
When it's time to study, open anything your instructor posted, and ask Scholar about it. Answers come from your own course materials, with the source right there to check.

Do I have to upload anything?
No. Your courses come straight from Blackboard. You can add your own files or notes if you want them alongside.
Can my professor see what I do in Scholar?
No. Your professor can't see your chats, your quiz scores, or your mastery.
What does it cost?
It costs you nothing. Scholar is free of charge for students at schools in the Fall 2026 Cohort, and for beta users. Not at one of those schools yet? Join the student waitlist.
Does Scholar use my data to train AI?
No. Scholar runs on enterprise, non-trainable AI accounts, so your data is never used to train the models behind it.
I don't see one of my courses.
A class Scholar can't use, because it's closed, hasn't opened yet, or your school turned Scholar off for it, stays in Courses with a badge that says why. A brand-new class can take a few minutes to fill in, and Scholar shows a "Setting up your courses" note while it does. If your whole Courses page is empty, the screen tells you what it's waiting on. If something looks wrong, email support@scholar.com and tell us which class.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in your browser, phone included, so there's nothing to install.
Is it always right?
No AI is. When Scholar answers from your course, it names the source it used, so you can open the slide and check. Answers are model-generated and can draw on general knowledge too.
What if I miss a few days?
It picks up where you actually are. No lectures, no guilt.
